Donna Summer

Donna Summer was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, painter, and actress. She was born on December 31, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts and passed away on May 17, 2012 in Englewood, Florida at the age of 63 due to lung cancer. Known as the "Queen of Disco," "Boston Panther," and "First Lady of Love," Donna Summer gained her stage name from Helmut Sommer, an Austrian actor whom she was married to for two years. She had a daughter named Mimi Sommer with him. Donna's sisters are Dara Bernard and Mary Bernard. In 1980, she married Bruce Sudano and they have two daughters together: Brooklyn and Amanda Grace Sudano. In recognition of her contributions to music, Donna Summer was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 by Kelly Rowland.
