Global Village Trucking Company
James Lascelles was a co-founder of the Global Village Trucking Company, known as "The Glob's", in the early 1970s. The band, road crew, and their families all lived together in a Norfolk commune, playing extended free-form jams at benefit concerts and free festivals. Despite shunning record companies, they recorded an album at Rockfield Studios in Wales. In 1973, the BBC made a documentary about their communal living and aim to make it without a record company. Their re-union in 2008 led to gigs at Glastonbury and other festivals.
