Ivor Cutler

Ivor Cutler (1923-2006) was a highly eccentric artist, poet, singer, songwriter, storyteller, broadcaster, author and teacher. With his offbeat sense of humor and wonder at the world, he appealed to successive generations. Over four decades of performing, he attracted a band of admirers that included Bertrand Russell, John and Paul from The Beatles, and John Peel. Cutler also wrote books for children and adults and taught at various schools throughout his career. He retired from the stage at 82 years old after battling Alzheimer's and ill-health. Ivor Cutler passed away on March 3rd, 2006 at the age of 83.
