Joan Jett

Joan Jett is an American rock singer, guitar player, record producer, and actress. Born on September 22, 1958 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania as Joan Marie Larkin. After her parents' divorce, she changed her surname to her mother's maiden name: Jett. At the age of 15, Jett co-founded a rock band that would later become known as The Runaways. As the leader of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, she has achieved great success with eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles. In addition to her music career, Jett has also ventured into acting in movies and television shows. She even served as the executive producer for "The Runaways," a film based on Cherie Currie's book about their band called Neon Angel.

In recognition of her contributions to rock music, Joan Jett was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 as a performer for Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.
