Joe Hisaishi

Joe Hisaishi is a Japanese composer, musical director, conductor and pianist. Born on December 6, 1950 in Nagano, he began his career as a composer of modern music while studying at the Kunitachi College of Music. Initially drawn to minimalist music, Hisaishi adopted the stage name "Hisaishi Joe" inspired by Quincy Jones. With a diverse body of work spanning various genres and collaborations with renowned filmmakers like Hayao Miyazaki, Hisaishi has established himself as one of Japan's most influential musicians.

Throughout his career, Hisaishi has composed scores for numerous films and television shows. He is particularly known for his collaborations with acclaimed animator Hayao Miyazaki on films such as "Spirited Away," "My Neighbor Totoro," and "Princess Mononoke."
