Junior Wells

Junior Wells (born December 9, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee, died January 15, 1998) was a blues vocalist and harmonica player based in Chicago. He made his first recordings in 1953 and continued to record regularly up until his death. From 1965 onwards, he often collaborated with guitarist Buddy Guy.

In addition to his work within the blues genre, Junior Wells also ventured into the rock world, performing alongside renowned artists such as Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones, and Van Morrison.

With a distinctive vocal style and masterful harmonica skills, Junior Wells became an influential figure in the blues scene. His music resonates with soulful emotion and showcases his deep understanding of the genre's roots.
