Shriekback
Shriekback is an English post-punk band from Kentish Town, London. Formed in 1981 by *Dave Allen*, *Barry Andrews*, and *Carl Marsh*, the band gained popularity with their unique sound and captivating performances. In 1984, *Martyn Barker* joined as the drummer and percussionist after touring with them and contributing to various sessions. Despite lineup changes over the years, Shriekback has continued to evolve while maintaining their originality.
Throughout their career, Shriekback released several notable albums including "Oil & Gold" in 1985, which featured contributions from renowned musicians such as *Budgie* and *Annie Lennox*. The departure of Marsh marked a turning point for the band as they embarked on producing a successful pop album titled "[m=48405]". Despite this transition, Andrews remained dedicated as the sole original member and main songwriter.
In later years, Shriekback experienced reunions with former members. Dave Allen briefly rejoined in 1992 and collaborated on the fan-financed mini-album "[m=961808]" released in 2003. Additionally, Carl Marsh returned to the band both as a guest musician for [m=336078] and eventually became a full-time member again since 2015.
