The Exciters

The Exciters were an American Pop/Soul vocal quartet from Jamaica, Queens, NYC. Originally named The Masterettes, they were active from 1960 till 1974. Their best known hit single, "Tell Him," reached #4 on the US charts in January 1963. The group consisted of Brenda Reid, Herbert Rooney, Carolyn "Carol" Johnson, and Lillian Walker.

With their infectious blend of pop and soul music, The Exciters captivated audiences during the early 1960s. Their energetic performances and harmonious vocals made them a standout act in the music scene. They paved the way for other girl groups with their unique sound and style.
