Derrick Harriott

Derrick Harriott is a singer and record producer from Kingston, Jamaica. He was born on February 6th, 1939. Harriott founded Crystal Records, along with the shop/distributor Derrick's One Stop. He later established Move & Groove and Crystal D as his subsequent labels.

In 1971, Swing magazine recognized Harriott as the Top Producer of 1970. He was an early adopter of King Tubby's mixing talents at his Waterhouse studio, releasing one of the earliest dub albums titled Scrub A Dub under The Crystallites.

Harriott is also known for being the uncle of Kim Harriott. Some similar artists to Derrick Harriott include The Jamaicans, Pat Kelly, Derrick Morgan, The Kingstonians, The Gaylads, and many more.
