Wax Idols

Wax Idols were a four-piece based out of Oakland, CA (USA) active from 2009-2018. Their sound calls on the mutated aesthetics of varying strains of post-punk and classic pop-rock hooks. Drawing inspiration from darkwave and Factory/Rough Trade pioneers, as well as the complex interplay and emotion of post-hardcore, Wax Idols created a unique blend of genres that captivated audiences.

Their music can be likened to artists such as Terry Malts, Useless Eaters, Heavy Times, Girls Names, Kids On A Crime Spree, Royal Headache, The Babies, Bleached, Mind Spiders, The Fresh & Onlys, The Mantles, Grass Widow, The Coathangers,Hunx & His Punx , Colleen Green,Cold Showers,Male Bonding ,The Intelligence ,Dead Ghosts,Vivian Girls.
