Bert Jansch was a Scottish artist born on November 3, 1943 in Glasgow. He was a talented musician and songwriter who made significant contributions to the folk music genre. Sadly, he passed away on October 5, 2011 in Hampstead, London after battling cancer for a long time.

Throughout his career, Bert Jansch was married twice. His first marriage was to Heather Jansch and they had a son named Kieran Jansch. Later on, he married Loren Jansch and together they had a son named Adam Jansch.

'Jack Orion' is the third album by Bert Jansch, released in 1966. It contains a number of traditional songs, including the epic 'Jack Orion': a ten-minute adaptation of the Child ballad 'Glasgerion' which tells of a court fiddler's attempt to seduce a countess and his servant's treachery in successfully impersonating him. A number of songs are performed with friend and fellow guitarist John Renbourn, who would later join him in the group Pentangle. 'The Waggoner's Lad' has Jansch unusually playing the banjo with Renbourn supplying the guitar part.
