Jethro Tull is a Grammy Award winning British rock group formed in 1967-1968. Their music is characterized by the unique vocal style and lead flute work of front man Ian Anderson. Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavor, the band has incorporated elements of classical, folk, jazz, and art rock over the years.
With their distinctive sound and innovative approach to music, Jethro Tull has captivated audiences worldwide. Led by the talented Ian Anderson, their fusion of genres such as blues rock, classical, folk, jazz, and art rock sets them apart from other bands.
The band's journey began in the late 1960s and they quickly gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship and groundbreaking compositions. Their incorporation of unconventional instruments like the flute added a unique dimension to their sound.

Parlophone is an anglicization of the German [l=Parlophon] label, registered as a trademark in 1902 by Max Straus and Heinrich Zuntz of [b]Salon Kinematograph Co. GmbH[/b], later merged into [l=Carl Lindström A.-G.]. The first Parlophon records are pressed in 1910. 

By 1923, Parlophone proper appears in London administered by English Lindström branch known as [l311921],  Parlophon records were pressed in London and sold locally. By 1926 extended operations extended to press for export in Australia (#cat A) until the australian factory [l=Parlophone Co. Ltd.] was created somewhere the next year. These companies were subsequently taken over by [l97841] in 1927, following its acquisition of [l275192] in 1926, thus becoming a constituent part of [l293204] (EMI) when that company merged with [l253617] in 1931.

The label largely operated as a Jazz and Novelty label until manager, [a=George Martin], signed the [a=The Beatles] in 1962. As a result of its subsequent success and profile, the label was earmarked for phasing out in 1973 in favour of [l=EMI] (the label), however the parlophone imprint continued to be used by registered trademark owner [l=EMI Records Ltd.] and affiliated companies.

In September 2012 following the acquisition of [l1330982]'s US and Asian interests by [l=Universal Music Group], Parlophone and the former EMI Records Ltd. were merged as the [l806790] (PLG Holdco Ltd.) and spun off to be sold. 

They were sold to [l=Warner Music Group] in March 2013.
The Parlophone label is now owned by [l=Parlophone Records Ltd.], the re-named EMI Records Ltd., itself a subsidiary of [l=Warner Music International].

The Beatles were not part of the Parlophone Label Group and their catalogue was acquired by [l=Universal].

Jethro Tull’s 1982 album The Broadsword And The Beast will be celebrated in a brand-new 5CD + 3DVD set (The&nbsp;Monster Edition) and 4LP set (The Vinyl Edition). The 40th Anniversary packages includes new mixes from Steven Wilson, demos, rough mixes, live recordings and sessions from 1981. This 5CD+3DVD Monster Edition includes a 164-page book with interviews with band members, a track-by-track annotation by Ian Anderson, an interview with sleeve illustrator Iain McCaig, an extensive interview with studio and live sound engineer Leigh Mantle, a recreation of the 1982 tour programme and touring schedule, and rare photos and memorabilia. The set will also include The Broadsword And The Beast, A Steven Wilson stereo remix, associated recordings, demo recordings, the original 1981 master mixes and live in Germany 1982. The Broadsword And The Beast is the 14th studio album by Jethro Tull, originally released on the 10th of April 1982 and according to Ian Anderson in the liner notes of the remastered CD, contains some of Jethro Tull’s best music. This album's masterful storytelling, accompanied by Ian Anderson's unmistakable flute melodies, garnered critical acclaim and has become a fan favourite over the years. The album mixes electronic sound, provided by Peter-John Vettese (a characteristic that would be explored further on the next album Under Wraps) with acoustic instruments. The Broadsword And The Beast is a cross between the synthesiser sound of the 1980s and the folk-influenced style that Tull had in the previous decade.
