Bloodshot Records is an independent record label based in Chicago, Illinois. Since its founding in 1993 by Nan Warshaw, Rob Miller, and Eric Babcock, the label has been a pioneer in roots-infused indie rock, punk rock, and alternative country music.

Over the years, Bloodshot Records has gained recognition for its diverse roster of talented artists and their unique sound. The label saw some changes with Babcock's departure in 1997 and Warshaw's exit in 2019. However, it continued to thrive until briefly closing its doors in 2021.

Fortunately, on October 23rd, 2021, Bloodshot Records was acquired by a new owner and made a triumphant return to the music scene. After lying dormant for some time, the label announced exciting plans for upcoming releases. One such release is from *Layng Martine Jr.*, set to debut in May 2023.

Firebrand alt-country singer Lydia Loveless combines the honky tonk sound and style of classic country stars like Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline with the no-quarter attitude and spunk of punk rock divas such as Exene Cervenka and Carla Bozulich.
Lydia Loveless was born in Coschocton, Ohio in 1990; she was raised on a farm, but her father was also a music fan who booked bands at a local bar. Lydia became accustomed early on to seeing bands play and discovering an out-of-town act asleep on the living-room floor in the morning.
By the time Loveless was 13, she had taken up songwriting and was doing shows with local bands, playing a combination of rootsy country and punk-influenced rock & roll.

Lydia Loveless emerges from the trenches of her hometown Columbus, Ohio with gloves off and brimming with confidence on Somewhere Else. While her previous album was described as 'hillbilly punk with a honkytony heart,' this one can't be so easily pigeonholed. thematically, the ten songs here are stark in their honesty, self-examination and openness. Somewhere Else is more elemental than any of Loveless' previous material, all anchored by her arresting voice.
