Siouxsie and the Banshees were a U.K. band formed in 1976, fronted by Siouxsie Sioux on vocals, with Steven Severin playing bass. Budgie on drums joined them in 1980. The band had various guitarists including Marco Pirroni, John McKay, John McGeoch, and Robert Smith of The Cure. Martin McCarrick was their full-time keyboard player from 1987 onwards. They disbanded in April 1996 but reunited for 'The Seven Year Itch' Tour in 2003.Siouxsie Sioux (Susan Janet Ballion) is known for her distinctive vocal style and powerful stage presence. She has been an influential figure in the punk and post-punk movements.Their music blends elements of punk rock, new wave, gothic rock, and alternative rock to create a unique sound that has inspired countless artists across genres.

This album follows in the direction of its previous studio album, 86's Tinderbox (the band had also issued an all covers release, Through the Looking Glass, between the two) - in so much that the arrangements were much tighter than their adventurous early 80's work. Highlights included the singles "Peek a Boo", "Killing Jar", and "Last Beat of my Heart", as well as the lesser known cuts "Turn To Stone" and album closer, "Rhapsody". LP - Remastered from the original ¼” tapes and cut at half speed at Abbey Road studios, London.Both artwork and audio have personally been overseen and orchestrated by Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin.
