Sufjan Stevens is an American singer-songwriter, born on July 1, 1975 in Detroit, Michigan. With his unique blend of folk and indie pop, he has captivated audiences worldwide with his heartfelt lyrics and mesmerizing melodies.
Stevens began his musical journey at a young age, learning to play multiple instruments including the guitar, piano, and banjo. His passion for music led him to pursue a career in songwriting and performing.
Over the years, Stevens has released numerous critically acclaimed albums that showcase his versatility as an artist. From introspective ballads to upbeat anthems, each song tells a story that resonates with listeners on a deep level.

Ryuichi Sakamoto was a Japanese musician, composer, and actor born on January 17, 1952 in Tokyo, Japan. He studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music where he specialized in composition and electronic/ethnic music. Sakamoto began his career in the mid-1970s as a composer, arranger, and producer for popular rock, jazz, and classical artists in Japan. He gained fame as a member of the synth-rock band Yellow Magic Orchestra. Throughout his career, he collaborated with various artists including David Sylvian and appeared in films such as Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence alongside David Bowie.
Sakamoto's musical talent extended to film scores as well. He won an Academy Award for his score to the 1987 film The Last Emperor directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. Additionally, he composed soundtracks for Pedro Almodovar's High Heels and Oliver Stone's Wild Palms. Sakamoto was married to Japanese pianist and singer Akiko Yano with whom he collaborated on some recordings.
Aside from his musical achievements, Ryuichi Sakamoto was also known for being critical of copyright law which he believed to be outdated in the information age. His legacy lives on through his daughter Miu Sakamoto who is also involved in the music industry under the alias Sister M.

Sony Classical release the soundtrack of the acclaimed 2017 film. Scored by Sufjan Stevens and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Call Me By Your Name is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the celebrated novel by André Aciman.

During the summer of 1983 in Northern Italy, an American-Italian is enamored by an American student who comes to study and live with his family. Together they share an unforgettable summer full of music, food, and romance that will forever change them. Luca Guadagnino wanted the film’s music to be connected to Elio, a young pianist who likes to transcribe and adapt pieces in order to get close to Oliver. The music is used to reflect the time, the characters’ family, level of education and “the kind of canon they would be a part of”. Guadagnino found himself resonating with Sufjan Stevens’ lyricism through his work and initially asked Stevens to record an original song. Eventually, Stevens contributed three songs to the soundtrack: Visions of Gideon, which was used at the end of the film, Mystery of Love, which was featured in the film’s first trailer and a new rendition of Futile Devices with piano. Stevens penned the songs by using the script, the book, and the conversations with the director about the characters.
