The Doors were an American psychedelic rock/blues rock band formed in July, 1965 in Los Angeles, CA. The band was founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison. Following the death of Jim Morrison in 1971, the remaining members released two more albums but experienced limited success. In April 1973, the band ultimately disbanded. The Doors were later inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1993.

Opening with the hard driving "Roadhouse Blues", a track built upon a classic blues riff without a hint of psychedelia, the album relies heavily on their earlier influences as demonstrated in such 60's fuelled tracks as "Waiting For The Sun" and "Queen Of The Highway". Morrison Hotel is also credited as the bands strongest effort since Strange Days.
