Metal band Venom, originally known as Guillotine and Dwarfstar, was founded in 1978 in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Considered pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, their second album "Black Metal" gave its name to a new style on which they had a significant influence.

Most of Venom's original material featured satanic imagery and was written by bassist/frontman Conrad Lant (Cronos) and guitarist Jeffrey Dunn (Mantas). In 1986, Dunn left the band and they split the following year. Lant formed a new band called Cronos with some other members while drummer Anthony Bray (Abaddon) remained as the only original member.

In 1995, Venom's classic lineup reformed after disbanding in 1992 due to internal conflicts. Throughout the years, there were several lineup changes with Lant remaining as frontman. In 2015, Tony Dolan (Demolition Man), Bray, and Dunn formed Venom Inc., continuing the legacy of the 1988-1992 incarnation of Venom.

BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. Venom's third album was a semi-concept album that tells the story of a war between Heaven and Hellwhere the latter side wins, it was touted as Venom's crossover into rock mainstream, but failed to do so. Shortly after it reached the stores the HMV record chain withdrew the album from their shelves due to its anti-Christian content.  Remastered reissue of their second album from 1985 with eight added bonus tracks, 'At War With Satan' (TV adverts), 'Warhead' (12 inch version), 'Lady Lust' (12 inch version), 'The Seven Gates Of Hell' (12 inch version), 'Manitou' (12 inch version), 'Woman' (12 inch version), 'Dead Of The Night' (12 inch version) &amp; 'Manitou' (Abbey Road- uncut).
