Elbow
Elbow is an alternative rock band from Bury, Greater Manchester, England. Formed in 1990 as Mr. Soft and later renamed to Elbow in 1997, the band consists of Mark Potter on guitar and vocals, Pete Turner on bass, Richard Jupp on drums (until 2016), Guy Garvey on vocals and guitar, and Craig Potter on keyboards and vocals.
In their early years, Elbow faced setbacks with a scrapped debut album due to label changes. However, they persevered and released their first EP in 2000 through indie label Ugly Man Records before signing with V2 in 2001.
Their breakthrough came in 2008 when they won the prestigious Mercury Prize for Best British Album for "The Seldom Seen Kid." This recognition solidified their place as one of the leading bands in the UK music scene.
