Leroy Smart
Leroy Smart is a reggae singer and producer from Kingston, Jamaica. He began his music career in 1969 with the release of his first single, "It Pains Me". Throughout the 1970s, Smart collaborated with various producers including Joe Gibbs and Gussie Clarke, recording hits such as "Ethiopia" and "Pride & Ambition". In 1973, he achieved breakthrough success with the chart-topping single "Mother Liza", produced by Jimmy Radway. With over 35 albums to his name, Leroy Smart remains a popular figure in reggae music. He even made an appearance in the film "Rockers" alongside other renowned artists like Gregory Isaacs and Jacob Miller.
