Melanie Martinez is a vocalist known for her alternative singer/songwriter pop and electronic music. She gained recognition by competing on the third season of NBC's vocal competition The Voice. Born in Baldwin, New York, Martinez was influenced by her father's collection of Beatles records and hip-hop music. In 2012, while still in high school, she auditioned for The Voice with an impressive rendition of Britney Spears' "Toxic" and joined Adam Levine's team. Although she was eliminated in week five based on audience vote, Martinez continued to pursue her passion for music.

In 2014, Melanie Martinez released the EP Dollhouse under Atlantic Records. Produced by Kinetics and One Love, this debut project showcased her unique style and storytelling abilities. With haunting melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, Martinez captivated listeners worldwide.
