Nile

Influential guitarist, songwriter and producer Nile was born on September 19, 1952 in New York City. He played a significant role in the disco scene of the late 1970s, recording as part of Chic and producing numerous popular disco hits alongside his bandmate Bernard Edwards. Nile's production work extended to artists such as Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Madonna, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, INXS, Thompson Twins, Grace Jones, The B-52's and Beavis & Butt-Head. His contributions as an artist, producer or writer have resulted in sales of over 100 million records.

Nile is also notable for being the first African-American to own his own national music distribution company called Sumthing Else MusicWorks Inc., which specializes in distributing video game soundtracks.
