Spoon is a music label established by Hildegard Schmidt in 1980. Hildegard was the manager of the influential Krautrock group Can and started Spoon to release their group, solo, and side-project material.

The early pressings of Spoon releases had a simplistic black on white label with no logo. The label name, Spoon-Records, was displayed boldly with the address 5000 Köln 30 underneath. Later pressings added an LC code (LC 7395) on the left of the label and revised the address slightly to D-5000 Köln 30. French (Celluloid) and Italian (Base Record) issues were released from 1981 onwards.

In the mid/late 1980s, Mute Records took up UK distribution for Spoon. In 1989, CD versions of Spoon releases were introduced with basic black print labels and no logos. These CDs were made in Switzerland and featured SPOON as part of the catalogue number. In 1991, when Mute took up international distribution, a logo for Spoon was introduced - block split inverse capitals in a box - appearing on vinyl labels (white or black inverse labels since 1999) and on CD labels.

Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst. The band consists of Conor Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene. Bright Eyes is signed to Saddle Creek Records, a Nebraska-based label founded by Conor Oberst's brother Justin Oberst and Bright Eyes member Mike Mogis. They were active from 1995–2011 and have recently made a comeback in 2020.

Known for their introspective lyrics and unique sound, Bright Eyes has influenced many artists in the indie rock genre. Some similar artists include The Good Life, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Cursive, Neva Dinova, Okkervil River, and more. This is perhaps Can's finest album. Tago Mago was Can's third long-player originally released in 1971, and the second album to feature the vocals of Damo Suzuki, who took over from Malcolm Mooney. Generally considered as the band's best work, consisting of intensely rhythmic jazz-inspired drumming, improvised guitar and keyboard soloing, tape edits, and Suzuki's idiosyncratic vocalisms. 7 mighty tracks with the band at their kosmische psychedelic peak through seminal tracks such as Mushroom and the side-long pieces Halleluwah and Aumgan. Of all the band’s oeuvre, Tago Mago has been most often cited as an influence for a host of artists including John Lydon, Radiohead, The Fall, Ariel Pink, Fuck Buttons, Sonic Youth, Factory Floor and Queens Of The Stone Age. Just last week Geoff Barrow (Portishead) mentioned Can as his favourite and most inspiring band ever (The Quietus).
