Coldplay is an English rock band from London, England. They've been a band since January 16, 1998 when they lost a demotape competition on XFM in London. Philip Christopher Harvey is the band's manager.

The line-up consists of Jonny Buckland (Jonathan Mark Buckland) on guitar, Will Champion (William Champion) on drums, Guy Berryman (Guy Rupert Berryman) on bass, and Chris Martin (Christopher Anthony John Martin) as the lead vocalist.

With their captivating sound and heartfelt lyrics, Coldplay has become one of the most influential bands in modern music. Since their formation in 1998, they have released numerous chart-topping albums and singles that have resonated with audiences worldwide. Parlophone is an anglicization of the German [l=Parlophon] label, registered as a trademark in 1902 by Max Straus and Heinrich Zuntz of [b]Salon Kinematograph Co. GmbH[/b], later merged into [l=Carl Lindström A.-G.]. The first Parlophon records are pressed in 1910. 

By 1923, Parlophone proper appears in London administered by English Lindström branch known as [l311921],  Parlophon records were pressed in London and sold locally. By 1926 extended operations extended to press for export in Australia (#cat A) until the australian factory [l=Parlophone Co. Ltd.] was created somewhere the next year. These companies were subsequently taken over by [l97841] in 1927, following its acquisition of [l275192] in 1926, thus becoming a constituent part of [l293204] (EMI) when that company merged with [l253617] in 1931.

The label largely operated as a Jazz and Novelty label until manager, [a=George Martin], signed the [a=The Beatles] in 1962. As a result of its subsequent success and profile, the label was earmarked for phasing out in 1973 in favour of [l=EMI] (the label), however the parlophone imprint continued to be used by registered trademark owner [l=EMI Records Ltd.] and affiliated companies.

In September 2012 following the acquisition of [l1330982]'s US and Asian interests by [l=Universal Music Group], Parlophone and the former EMI Records Ltd. were merged as the [l806790] (PLG Holdco Ltd.) and spun off to be sold. 

They were sold to [l=Warner Music Group] in March 2013.
The Parlophone label is now owned by [l=Parlophone Records Ltd.], the re-named EMI Records Ltd., itself a subsidiary of [l=Warner Music International].

The Beatles were not part of the Parlophone Label Group and their catalogue was acquired by [l=Universal].

'Ghost Stories Live 2014' follows Coldplay's sixth number 1 studio album 'Ghost Stories' which was released in May. Filmed by Grammy-nominated director Paul Dugdale, 'Ghost Stories Live 2014' documents the band's unique performance of the 'Ghost Stories' album to a small handful of fans in March 2014, two months prior to the album's release. Shot in a custom-built amphitheatre at Sony Studios, Los Angeles, the ground-breaking production sets the band's performance against stunning 360-degree and overhead imagery. Parts of the performance were first broadcast in May 2014 as a Coldplay TV Special by major broadcasters around the world, including NBC in the US and Sky Arts in the UK (where the film has already been nominated for Best Live Coverage at this year's UK Music Video Awards). But 'Ghost Stories Live 2014' is the first time that the performance has been sequenced as originally conceived: a visual representation of the Ghost Stories album. The release also contains an exclusive 'Ghost Stories' live album, with audio recorded at the band's rapturously-received shows in London, Sydney, Paris, Cologne, New York and Los Angeles between April and July 2014. The package is completed by eight music videos from the Ghost Stories era, including two never-before-seen films for B-sides 'All Your Friends' and 'Ghost Story' plus the exclusive Extended Director's Cut of the 'Magic' video (with a brand new cameo from Peter Fonda).
