Flying Lotus is an experimental multi-genre music producer, DJ, and laptop musician from Winnetka, California. He is also a member of the group FLYamSAM with collaborator Samiyam.
His great-aunt is Alice Coltrane and he is also a cousin of Ravi Coltrane. His maternal grandmother is Marilyn McLeod.
With his unique style and diverse musical influences, Flying Lotus has become a prominent figure in the electronic music scene. Known for pushing boundaries and experimenting with different genres, he has gained recognition for his innovative soundscapes and intricate production techniques. As a member of FLYamSAM, he continues to collaborate with other talented artists to create groundbreaking music that defies categorization. Warp is a British electronic label founded by Steve Beckett, Rob Mitchell (RIP 2001), and Robert Gordon. It is one of the world's most respected and influential electronic/experimental dance labels. Originally based in Sheffield, UK, Warp later moved to London. They are known for their pioneering digital music sales site Bleep.com, which offered high-quality MP3s for sale along with exclusive tracks and rarities. Warp has several related labels including Warp Records Limited, Warp Music Publishing, Lex Records, Arcola, LuckyMe, and Night Slugs.
