Formed in 1969, Hawkwind are a prolific and pioneering space-rock group from the UK. Known for their science fiction themed music and theatrical concerts, they gained fame for their exhibitions of pulsing electronics, dazzling light shows, and LSD consumption. Founder member Dave Brock has been the sole mainstay of the band since its inception, steering them through various musical genres including heavy metal, new wave, ambient and techno. Notable contributors have included Lemmy (of Motörhead), Ginger Baker (of Cream) and science fiction writer Michael Moorcock.
Hawkwind quickly made a name for themselves on the free festival circuit after forming in 1969. They would perform live without fee wherever possible.
Their 1971 album 'In Search of Space' solidified Hawkwind's reputation as pioneers of space-rock music. The album showcased their unique blend of science fiction themes with psychedelic rock sounds.

Cherry Red is a British label that was founded by Iain McNay in 1978. Also known as Cherry Red Records, this label has become associated with the company Music and Media Group. With the label code LC 6730, Cherry Red has made a name for itself in the music industry. It is important to note that this label should not be confused with the US label of the same name.

Hawkwind have announced a brand-new studio album. The Future Never Waits follows their critically acclaimed 2021 album Somnia and 2022 double live album We Are Looking In On You.The band’s 35th studio album is an outstanding progression to their varied and celebrated catalogue.Opening track ‘The Future Never Waits’ delivers a ten minute instrumental led space-age march, before progressing into the guitar-driven follow up ‘The End’, featuring Dave Brock’s trademark vocals and chugging machine gun riffs. Innovative additions to the Hawkwind canon such as ‘Aldous Huxley’ and ‘They Are So Easily Distracted’ introduce a gradual, almost lounge-like quality, with deliberate piano, audio samples and saxophones lamenting over a futuristic backdrop and roaming guitar solos.
