John Cale is a Welsh musician, composer, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as a co-founder of the influential band Velvet Underground with Lou Reed. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various artists and produced debut albums for notable bands such as The Stooges, Patti Smith Group, and Modern Lovers.
Born on March 9th, 1942 in Garnant, Wales, UK, John Cale's musical contributions have left an indelible mark on the industry. His talent spans across multiple roles within the music realm - from composing to singing to producing.
With his involvement in Velvet Underground alongside Lou Reed, John Cale played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of alternative rock. Additionally, he has lent his expertise as a producer to create groundbreaking debut albums for renowned bands like The Stooges' self-titled album (1969), Patti Smith Group's "Horses" (1975), and Modern Lovers' eponymous release (1976).

All Saints Records was established in 1991 and is named after the street in West London. The label's first releases were from Opal Records/Land Records, which had closed that year as Brian Eno's management company wanted to focus on artist management rather than being a label. All Saints has since continued to build upon those initial releases with new acts as well as with artists already associated with the label.

When building songs around another’s words, the results often sound forced, but Cale does a magnificent job of compressing Thomas’s lyricism into neat melodic phrases, themselves just components of a vast harmonic mega-structure scored for the USSR’s Orchestra of Symphonic and Popular Music of Gostelradio.
