The brainchild of Joseph Mount, the band was formed when his father sold him a computer to pursue his passion for making electronic music. Inspired by artists such as Autechre, LFO, and Aphex Twin, Metronomy started as a creative hobby rather than a pop masterplan.

the latest instalment of late night tales comes from metronomy and is something special. joe mount handles the mix, with the producer allowing his tastes to run wild. opening with outkast, the mix also includes avant electronics from autechre and prog oddballs tonto's expanding head band. there's a slice of folk from kate and anna mcgarrigle, while french indie pairing herman dune are also present. a curious and diverse mix, joe mount also includes a new cover version. metronomy have recorded a fresh rendition of 'hypnose' by jean michel jarre. as per usual, the mix is rounded off by a spoken word piece from paul morley.
