Peaceville is an English label founded by Paul Halmshaw, also known as Hammy, in 1987. The label primarily focuses on metal music and has gained a reputation for its high-quality releases. In 2000, Peaceville was sold to Snapper Music but continues to thrive under their ownership.

Throughout its history, Peaceville has used various catalog number formats to distinguish different types of releases. From 1987 to 1995, the label used "VILE ### T" for 12-inch singles, maxis, and EPs; "VILE ###" for LPs; and "VILE ### P" for picture LPs. From 1987 to 2002, CD releases were labeled as "CDVILE### / VILE ### CD," while MCDs/singles/EPs were labeled as "CDMVILE### / VILE ### TCD." Limited CDs were marked with "CDXVILE###."

In later years, Peaceville introduced new catalog number formats such as "CC#" for the Collectors Club series of 7-inch records in 1993-1994. The 1994 album of supreme doom from the US heavy metal legends - presented on double heavyweight 180gm vinyl. Starting life in the early 1970s, US band Pentagram are one of the most enduring and influential underground bands in Heavy Metal history. Influenced by British bands The Groundhogs & Black Sabbath, their own unique take on Doom Metal has subsequently influenced everyone from Paradise Lost to Cathedral. Peaceville signed the band in the early 1990's and released the 3 classic albums, 'Relentless', 'Day Of Reckoning' & 'Be Forewarned'. 'Be Forewarned' was a classic follow-up of heavy metal & doom-fuelled riffing combined with dark lyrics from the ever enigmatic frontman Bobby Liebling. It was originally released in 1994, & included some of the band's strongest material to date, with a portion of the featured tracks originally conceived back in the 1970's. This edition of 'Be Forewarned' is presented on double black 180gm heavyweight vinyl with gatefold sleeve, including band liner notes.
