Bellowhead

Bellowhead is an eleven-piece folk-big-band that was formed in 2004 by the duo Spiers & Boden. They quickly gained recognition and went on to headline various prestigious festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, The Big Chill, Summer Sundae, and Roskilde Festival. Their captivating live performances earned them the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Live Act in 2005.

Starting with a self-released demo called "E.P.onymous" in October 2004, Bellowhead's popularity soared as it made its way onto the folk charts. This success led to their first full studio album, "Burlesque," released in October 2006, followed by "Matachin" in September 2008.

The band continued to make waves with a live DVD release in 2009 and their critically acclaimed third album, "Hedonism," produced by John Leckie, which hit the shelves in October 2010. They further delighted fans with albums like Broadside (2012) and Revival (2014). Although they initially disbanded after a tour in 2015, they reconnected during the lockdown of 2020 and performed an online concert that December. A recording of this concert was released in 2021. In November 2022, Bellowhead embarked on a live tour but sadly without Paul Sartin who had passed away earlier that year.
