Deep Wound

Deep Wound was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1982 in Westfield, Massachusetts. The group consisted of J Mascis on drums, Lou Barlow on guitar, Scott Helland on bass guitar, and Charlie Nakajima as the vocalist. They gained recognition for their raw and intense sound.

In 1984, Deep Wound disbanded when Mascis and Barlow went on to form the influential alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. However, they briefly reunited in 2004 during a Sonic Youth concert where Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh were the opening acts.
