Eliza Carthy

Eliza Carthy MBE is a British modern folk performer and composer. Born on 23 August 1975 in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, UK, she comes from a family of folk performers. Carthy records and performs solo as well as with her family. She has gained recognition for her extensive performances across the festival circuit and international tours.

In 2014, Eliza Carthy was awarded the honour of an Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her significant contributions to folk music in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
