Gravenhurst

Gravenhurst, the musical project of Nick Talbot, emerged in Bristol in the late ‘90s. Inspired by innovative artists like Third Eye Foundation and Flying Saucer Attack, Talbot was captivated by their groundbreaking sound. He initially joined Assembly Communications, a band reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine, but soon chose to follow his own path.

Talbot founded Silent Age Records and released his debut album 'Internal Travels', as well as early works from talented West Country musicians such as Mole Harness and War Against Sleep. Alongside this venture, he collaborated with Guy Bartell to create the haunting electronic group Bronnt Industries Kapital.

In 2003, Gravenhurst's second album 'Flashlight Seasons' showcased a more intricate composition style with drone-heavy arrangements that evoked a sense of foreboding. This release earned critical acclaim, including the prestigious 'Album of the Year' title from Venue magazine. The following year, Gravenhurst signed with Warp Records.
