Spear of Destiny is a British rock band founded in 1983 by singer and songwriter Kirk Brandon and bassist Stan Stammers. With an ever-changing lineup, the band has undergone many changes in musical style and members throughout the years. Their punk-influenced power rock often carries an anthemic feel, which has garnered them a reputation as a captivating live act. Spear of Destiny's albums have achieved chart success, with their album "World Service" reaching the UK Top 20. The band has had several UK Singles Chart entries, including their hit song "Never Take Me Alive".

Formed after the dissolution of Theatre of Hate, Spear of Destiny's original lineup included Kirk Brandon, Stan Stammers, Chris Bell, and Lascelles James. Over time, various musicians joined and left the band such as Dolphin Taylor on drums, Alan St Clair on guitar, John Lennard on saxophone, Neil Pyzer on keyboards and additional saxophone.

In addition to his work with Spear of Destiny, Kirk Brandon is also a member of the supergroup Dead Men Walking. Theatre of Hate was another project led by Brandon before forming Spear of Destiny in collaboration with Stan Stammers. Known for their post-punk/goth-rock sound influenced by bands like Warsaw (pre-Joy Division), Theatre of Hate released albums such as "Westworld" and "He Who Dares Wins: Live in Berlin".
