Mirrors

Mirrors were a Cleveland, Ohio band that formed in 1972 and was active between 1973 and 1975. They played a unique blend of proto-punk and avant-psych, drawing inspiration from The Velvet Underground. The original members included Jamie Klimek on guitars and vocals, Jim Crook on guitars and theremin, Paul Marotta on keyboards, Michael Weldon on drums, and either Craig Bell or Jim Jones on bass. In the late 1980s to early 1990s, Klimek and Marotta reactivated Mirrors with Paul Laurence joining as the drummer. Throughout their career, they collaborated with various other bands such as electric eels, X__X, The Styrenes, Rocket From The Tombs, Pere Ubu, Saucers.

Mirrors were known for their dark pizzazz and experimental sound that pushed boundaries. Their music had an edgy quality reminiscent of their heroes The Velvet Underground but with their own unique twist.

Although initially active for only a few years in the '70s before disbanding [they] made a significant impact on the underground music scene at the time. Their influence can still be felt today through their collaborations with other notable bands and artists.
