Born in 1925 in Amsterdam, Nico Gomez was a Belgian orchestra leader with Dutch roots. He spent his youth in Curaçao and Cuba, immersing himself in the rhythms of South American music. In Europe, he settled in Holland and Belgium where he became a skilled guitarist and singer for various orchestras.
