Pixies
Formed in 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts, Pixies is a US alternative rock band. The original lineup included Black Francis (vocals, guitar), Kim Deal (bass, vocals), Joey Santiago (guitar), and David Lovering (drums). In 2013, Kim Deal left the band and was temporarily replaced by Kim Shattuck for live performances. Eventually, Paz Lenchantin joined as the permanent bass player.
Pixies gained recognition for their unique sound blending elements of punk rock and surf music with surreal lyrics. Their influential albums like "Surfer Rosa" and "Doolittle" solidified their place in alternative rock history.
