Satan

British Heavy Metal band, formed in 1979 by guitarists Steve Ramsey and Russ Tippins. Satan is considered part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. After several lineup changes, the band recorded their first LP, "Court in the Act," in 1983. Disagreements over the direction of the band led to a change in vocalist and name, becoming Blind Fury for one album in 1985.

Satan then reverted back to their original name with a new vocalist and released "Suspended Sentence" in 1987. In 1988, they rebranded as Pariah but retained the same lineup before splitting up in 1990. They briefly reunited with a different lineup in 1997 but disbanded again after releasing one album.

In 2004, Satan regrouped for an appearance at Wacken Open Air Festival and finally reunited with their full "Court in the Act" lineup in 2011 to tour and record once more.
