Telex
Telex is a Belgian all-electronic disco pop band that was formed in 1978 by radio DJ and jazz musician Marc Moulin, programmer and sound engineer Dan Lacksman, and vocalist Michel Moers. The group gained popularity with their hit singles "Twist A Saint Tropez," "Moskow Diskow," and "Rock Around The Clock." Telex released five albums between 1979 and 1988, including "Looking For Saint Tropez," "Neurovision," "Sex," "Wonderful World," and "Looney Tunes." After a nearly 20-year hiatus, they returned with the release of the album "How Do You Dance?" in 2006. Unfortunately, Marc Moulin passed away in 2008 due to cancer.
During their break, Marc Moulin produced various pop albums, worked as one of the head programmers on French-speaking Belgian national radio, and also pursued his talents as an author and playwright. Dan Lacksman currently operates a studio complex called [l315683] in Brussels. Michel Moers resides in Provence, France where he works as a video director and photographer.
Telex's music continues to be cherished by fans around the world for its unique blend of electronic sounds with disco pop elements. Their contribution to the dance club scene remains significant with several popular Telex 12" releases being enjoyed especially in the USA.
