The Primevals

The Primevals are a Scottish garage rock band from Glasgow, UK. They were formed in 1983 and have been active on and off since then, with periods of activity in 1983-1988, 1990, 1997, and from 2007 to the present. The band was co-founded by Rhod Burnett, who later left to form Nutmeg City Group. Michael Rooney and Ady Gillespie joined Nutmeg City Group as well. Another co-founder of The Primevals, Tom Rafferty, went on to form The Beat Poets but eventually rejoined The Primevals for their album Heavy War.

With their unique sound and energetic performances, The Primevals have gained a dedicated following over the years. Their music is often categorized as garage rock and they draw inspiration from various genres including punk rock and rhythm & blues.
