Tom Waits

Tom Waits, born on December 7th, 1949 in Pomona, California, is a contemporary artist known for his lyrical and poetical songwriting and raspy gravelly voice. His first album, "Closing Time", was released in 1973. Inspired by early blues and beat poetry, Waits draws influence from artists like Howlin' Wolf and Jack Kerouac.

In addition to his music career, Waits has made a strong presence in the world of movies. He has appeared in works by renowned directors such as Francis Ford Coppola, the Coen Brothers, Jim Jarmusch, Terry Gilliam, and Robert Altman.

Prior to his success in the music industry and film industry, Waits worked as a dishwasher at Napoleone Pizza House in San Diego before being promoted to pizza chef.
