Traffic Sound

Traffic Sound is a Peruvian rock band that was founded in 1967. The band members include Freddy, Manuel, Willy "Wilito" Barclay, Luis "Lucho" Nevares, and two others. They chose the name Traffic Sound because of their love for a traffic light that they kept as a souvenir in their practice space. After gaining success at The Tiffany, they recorded their first album "A Bailar Go Go" in 1968. Their second album "Virgin" (1969) catapulted them to legendary status with the hit song "Meshkalina". They continued to blend psychedelic and Andean folk sounds in later albums like "Traffic Sound" (1970) and toured South America extensively. The band disbanded in 1972 after releasing their last LP "Lux".
