SST

SST is a German disc mastering and lacquer cutting company that operated under this name from 1969 until November 2016. It was founded by a sound engineer, *name*, as a side job to his main occupation with the German public broadcasting company. In 1971, *name's wife* started cutting due to an increasing order volume. The studio had two disc mastering studios equipped with Neumann VMS80 lathes. After the Brüggemanns retired in 2011, the studio was owned and operated by *Daniel Krieger*. The cutting engineers at SST included Christa Brüggemann (1971 - May 2011), Daniel Krieger (since 1997), Michael Haas (1995 - 2004), Martin Wegner (since 2011), and Alex Nimmermann (since 2014). In November 2016, the company moved to a new location and was renamed to Schallplatten Schneid Technik GmbH.
