In March 1977, Alternative TV was formed by Mark Perry (vocals/guitar) and guitarist Alex Fergusson. They played their first gig at the Nottingham Punk Festival in May 1977 and released their first album in May 1978. After experimenting with different styles, the band broke up for the first time in late 1979 but reformed in '81. They have since split and started again multiple times and are still active as of early '08.

Alternative TV's sound is influenced by punk rock and they have been associated with other bands such as Subway Sect, Penetration, The Adverts, Slaughter & The Dogs, 999, The Rezillos, The Members, Patrik Fitzgerald, Suburban Studs, The Ruts, The Lurkers, The Vibrators, Generation X, Richard Hell Chelsea ,The Only Ones Kleenex Magazine ,The Carpettes Buzzcocks.

With a history spanning several decades and a willingness to experiment with different musical styles within the punk genre,
Alternative TV has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Led by Mark Perry's vocals and guitar work,
the band has released numerous albums throughout their career. Despite lineup changes and periods of disbandment,
they continue to create music that resonates with fans old and new.

Founded in 1998 by musician and journalist Markus Detmer, Staubgold is a German label that provides a platform for various musical styles. Based in Cologne initially, the label later moved to Berlin in 2003 and then to Perpignan, France in 2011. With an extensive catalogue of diverse music, Staubgold aims to inspire, touch, and seduce its listeners.

Catalogue Number 46 features a limited run of *Staubgold Record Bags* produced by Kerstin Nothmann. These bags are adorned with a two-color silk-screen print on white tilt and have dimensions of 35.5cm height x 35.5cm width x 14cm depth. Designed to hold up to 25 LPs, only 100 bags were produced.

First ever reissue of Alternative TV's Action Time Vision, compiled in 1980 and featuring the group's 7"es from 1977 to 1979. Including bonus track "You Bastard" and new liner notes by ATV singer Mark Perry, the founding editor of punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue.
