Bernard Herrmann was an American composer and conductor known for his original film scores, including iconic movies such as Psycho, North By Northwest, Taxi Driver, and Citizen Kane. He also composed the well-known "Suspense" radio show theme, which remained uncredited for decades. Born on June 29th, 1911 in New York City, he sadly passed away on December 24th, 1975 in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, Bernard Herrmann's music captivated audiences with its unique style and ability to enhance the emotional impact of films. His compositions for suspenseful scenes became legendary in the industry.
In addition to his work in film scoring, Herrmann made significant contributions to radio drama series during the mid-20th century. One notable example is his composition of "The Wailing Theme," which served as the theme song for CBS Radio's popular "Suspense" show from 1942 to 1962.

A 1964 American Psychological thriller from The Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, based upon the novel by Winston Graham and starring Tippi Hedren &amp; Sean Connery. Marnie sees Hedren’s anti-heroine, a thief with erythrophobia, blackmailed into marrying Sean Connery’s widower.

The last collaboration between director Alfred Hitchcock and composer Bernard Herrmann is not only recognised as one of the finest score’s Herrmann composed and recorded for their legendary partnership but also one of the greatest of all his works. Never-before-available ‘Marnie’ debuts in a stunning stereo master.
