He collaborated with renowned pianists Pete Johnson, Art Tatum, and Sammy Price, as well as various small jazz ensembles. Turner also appeared with the Count Basie Orchestra.
Some of Turner's most famous recordings include "Roll 'Em Pete," "Cherry Red," "Wee Baby Blues," "Chains of Love," "Honey Hush," "Flip, Flop and Fly," and "Midnight Special." His music showcased his dynamic vocal range and expressive style.

Joe Turner was an American blues singer who is known by his nickname of “Big Joe Turner” (because of his corpulent stature), but is also known as various other nicknames, such as “Boss of the Blues”. However, he achieved his greatest fame during his rock and roll phase in the 1950s. During that same period, he released his album Big Joe Is Here, which is Turner’s post-R&amp;B era album.
