BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Considered by many to be the first heavy metal band, Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 by Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward in Birmingham, UK. The band's original name was the Polka Tulk Blues Band (later shortened to Polka Tulk) and later on changed to Earth before becoming Black Sabbath inspired by an Italian horror movie of the same name.

The original line-up lasted until 1979, after which Osbourne was fired and replaced by Ronnie James Dio. Throughout the years, there were several line-up changes with only Tony Iommi and keyboardist Geoff Nicholls remaining as consistent members. In 1997, Iommi, Butler, Ward, and Osbourne reunited for touring purposes. In 2007, they toured together as Heaven & Hell featuring Dio-era members.

In 2011, it was announced that the original line-up would be recording and touring again but Bill Ward dropped out due to contract issues. The three remaining members continued without him and released "13" in 2013. Black Sabbath played their final live show in Birmingham in 2017 but Tony Iommi has stated that future music and live appearances are still possible.

Comprising some of Black Sabbath’s most powerful albums ever produced, Hand of Doom features the Complete Original Black Sabbath 1970-1978 collection on picture disc for the first time. The highly collectible set contains the band's self-titled debut (1970), as well as the multi-platinum Paranoid (1970), the platinum albums Master Of Reality (1971), Vol. 4 (1972), and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973), the gold-certified Sabotage (1975), alongside Technical Ecstasy (1976) and Never Say Die! (1978).

The boxed set includes each album’s artwork printed on Side A. The self-titled debut, Vol. 4, Technical Ecstasy, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath feature the original back album artwork on Side B. Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Sabotage features an album-era photo of the band. The collection also includes a large color poster of the band taken in Los Angeles during the summer of 1972 whilst the band were recording Vol. 4.

Hand of Doom 1970 - 1978 comprises a range of Black Sabbath's most iconic albums throughout the decade. Starting with their self-titled debut LP in the 1970s, which boasted hits like "Black Sabbath" and "N.I.B." This was followed by the breakthrough album Paranoid in 1971, which featured the popular songs "War Pigs" and "Iron Man." Fans were then treated to Master Of Reality, Vol. 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage, Technical Ecstasy, and Never Say Die! - all of which are included in this comprehensive collection. Some of the standout tracks from these albums include "Snowblind," "Supernaut," "Symptom Of The Universe," and "Hole In The Sky."
