Peaceville is an English label founded by Paul Halmshaw, also known as Hammy, in 1987. The label primarily focuses on metal music and has gained a reputation for its high-quality releases. In 2000, Peaceville was sold to Snapper Music but continues to thrive under their ownership.

Throughout its history, Peaceville has used various catalog number formats to distinguish different types of releases. From 1987 to 1995, the label used "VILE ### T" for 12-inch singles, maxis, and EPs; "VILE ###" for LPs; and "VILE ### P" for picture LPs. From 1987 to 2002, CD releases were labeled as "CDVILE### / VILE ### CD," while MCDs/singles/EPs were labeled as "CDMVILE### / VILE ### TCD." Limited CDs were marked with "CDXVILE###."

In later years, Peaceville introduced new catalog number formats such as "CC#" for the Collectors Club series of 7-inch records in 1993-1994. A death metal band from Stockholm, Sweden, formed in 1998. Bloodbath was initially a fun side-project founded by Dan Swanö, Anders Nyström, Jonas Renkse and Mikael Åkerfeldt. They started playing and writing songs influenced by the Swedish and American death metal scene of the late 1980's/early 1990's.

The current line-up consists of *Anders Nyström* on guitar since 1998, *Jonas Renkse* on bass since 1998, *Martin Axenrot* on drums since 2004, *Nick Holmes* on vocals since 2014, and *Tomas Åkvik* on guitar since 2022.
