Description

Five-piece alt-jazz pioneers Butcher Brown have found time to cut a direct-to-disc album at Gearbox Studios; this on top of members like keys player/producer DJ Harrison releasing an album on Stones Throw and drummer Corey Fonville touring with Christian Scott. Recorded at Mark Ronson’s Zelig Studios and cut live to disc using Gearbox’s legendary all-analogue signal chain. Modern, hip-hop inflected funk with rich echoes of Weather Report, Earth Wind and Fire and a bit of Zappa.
