Catfish and the Bottlemen is a Welsh indie rock band that was formed in Llandudno, North Wales in 2007. The band currently consists of Ryan Evan "Van" McCann on vocals and guitar, and Benjamin "Benji" Blakeway on bass. Over the years, they have had various members come and go including Billy Bibby on lead guitar from 2007 to 2014, Jon Barr on drums from 2007 to 2010, Robert "Bob" Hall on drums from 2010 to 2021, and Johnny "Bondy" Bond on lead guitar from 2014 to 2021.

The start of another new chapter. Catfish and The Bottlemen’s 2019 new album release follows 2014’s platinum-certified debut, The Balcony and 2016’s gold, number one follow-up, The Ride. Recorded in seclusion at two locations: Grouse Lodge, in Moate, Republic of Ireland, and The Chapel in the countryside of East Lincolnshire, the band lived and breathed the album while residing together in rural isolation. The album was mixed by Craig Silvey. Further to the album name and familiar, one-word song titling, the creative bridge between 2014’s platinum-certified debut, The Balcony and it’s gold follow up, The Ride, has been reinforced by Catfish returning to San Francisco-based, graphic artist, Tim Lahan to provide cover artwork for a third time. The playful, monochromatic line drawing of a drinking toucan provides observers with no shortage of mystery to unravel as to the artwork’s inspirations and significance.
