Chris Cornell was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer. He was best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock bands Temple Of The Dog, Soundgarden and Audioslave. Widely regarded as one of the greatest male voices in rock history, Cornell's life was marked by his struggles with depression. Tragically, he was found dead in his Detroit hotel room on May 18, 2017, after performing at a Soundgarden concert earlier that night. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging.

Born on July 20, 1964 in Seattle, Washington, USA, Chris Cornell left an indelible mark on the music industry through his powerful vocals and captivating performances. Throughout his career spanning several decades, he showcased his immense talent not only as a singer but also as a skilled songwriter and instrumentalist.

Cornell's musical journey began with his involvement in various bands such as Temple Of The Dog and Soundgarden before forming Audioslave alongside former members of Rage Against The Machine. These ventures solidified his status as a prominent figure in the rock genre.
